Trump’s victory likely means curtains for criminal prosecutions

Former President Trump a year ago was staring down four potential criminal trials on 91 charges and decades in prison.

Trump staked his defense on winning back the White House, a strategy that has now paid off with his political victory. 

The former president — and president-to-be — is expected to grind the cases to a halt after defeating Vice President Harris in a comeback called by Decision Desk HQ early Wednesday morning. He's projected to become the first convicted felon to reach the nation’s highest office.
