Trump jokes about McConnell endorsement: ‘Boy that must have been a painful day’

Former President Trump joked about Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's (R-Ky.) endorsement, noting it “must have been a painful day in his life” because the two have been at odds for years.

Trump was speaking at a rally in North Carolina on Sunday, when he mentioned McConnell after remarks about the inflation seen under President Biden and Vice President Harris’s administration.

“They caused inflation. They screwed up my energy policy and the prices went way up and everything else, real simple.
