A campaign was launched on Thursday to have the traditional Cypriot koupa added to the European Union’s Protected Geographical Indications (PGI) register.
The Larnaca chamber of commerce (Evel) and the town’s tourism board have now launched a joint study with the aim of having the koupa – a tube of bulgur wheat which is filled with minced meat – added to the register.
