West Bengal minister Akhil Giri resigns, says won't apologise to woman official

Akhil Giri, West Bengal's Correctional Services Minister, resigned following pressure from the Trinamool Congress leadership over a verbal altercation with a forest official. Giri refused to apologize to the official but expressed willingness to apologize to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He cited local issues and alleged corruption as reasons for his outburst.
