The Creek Fire, burning in the Sunol area of Alameda County, reached 75% containment and had burned through 744 acres as of Wednesday morning, according to Cal Fire.
The fire started on Friday around Welch Creek Road and Calaveras Road in Sunol. Evacuations and road closures along Welch Creek Road are still in place, said Cal Fire spokeswoman Chelsea Burkett. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Burkett said Cal Fire is handling the fire from the ground and there are no aircraft operating in the area.
