SAN DIEGO (Border Report) -- A culinary festival celebrating the first mixing of a Caesar Salad will take place in downtown Tijuana from Thursday to Sunday, involving 50 well-known chefs from across the region.
The original recipe was conceived in a restaurant at Caesar's Hotel in downtown Tijuana about 100 years ago.
The man who first mixed the now famous salad is César Cardini, an immigrant from Italy. On July 4th, there will be an unveiling of a statue honoring Cardini.
