Two Los Angeles Police Department officers were wounded during a shootout in South Los Angeles Wednesday night and police were searching for the person involved.
The officers were injured after they confronted and exchanged gunfire with someone in the area of 135th Street and South Broadway near an unincorporated area near Willowbrook at around 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, the LAPD said.
Fox 11 reported the person opened fire on the officers, possibly with a rifle, during the traffic stop with one officer suffering head grazing.
