As Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian nears the end of his tour in Manila, House Speaker Martin Romualdez points out that the envoy leaves behind a more frayed Philippine-China relationship than when he arrived in December 2019.
Romualdez told reporters in a press conference on Monday, June 24, that he recently had the opportunity to speak to Huang during the vin d’honneur, a diplomatic function hosted by Malacañang, and told the ambassador to find a way to smoothen the ties between the two countries.
