Maryland House Minority Leader Jason Buckel, a Republican from Allegany County, was arrested Thursday on several charges, including DUI, court records show.
Buckel was stopped by Maryland State Police around 11:23 p.m. on Thursday heading east on U.S. Route 40 near Campground Road in Cumberland, police said.
The Maryland Republican is alleged to have been driving a 2021 Mercedes Benz C300 during the incident. It is not immediately clear if passengers were inside the vehicle during the traffic stop.
