COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – An event celebrating freedom returned to Columbus this weekend.
Saturday was day one of the Juneteenth Ohio event at Genoa Park, with attendees listening to music, eating food, getting health screenings, and shopping.
Organizers said the event is all about bringing people together.
Juneteenth marks the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation, with the last of the enslaved people in America being declared free. Event organizer said the holiday is all about moving forward.
