AUSTIN (KXAN) -- On Wednesday, Gov. Greg Abbott announced $17 million in grant funding was awarded to rural hospital by the Texas Health and Human Services commission, Abbott's office said in a news release.
HHSC provides grant funding for those rural hospitals in alignment with the Rural Hospital Service Strategic Plan. This plan ensures Texans have access to hospital services, the release said.
Rural hospitals that qualify will receive $100,000 to $375,000 over a two-year period, the release said.
