TALLAHASSEE — Retailers hope Floridians will heed multiple forecasts that the upcoming hurricane season will be more active than normal.
The 14-day sales tax “holiday,” which runs from June 1 to June 14, is timed with the start of the six-month hurricane season. Consumers will not have to pay sales taxes on items ranging from packages of batteries to portable generators.
