TOPEKA (KSNT) - Evergy is giving an update to its efforts to repair downed power lines in the aftermath of a weekend storm that knocked power out across parts of Kansas and Missouri.
The company says 95% of the 106,000 customers who had their power knocked out have had their services restored as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21. Around 6,000 customers remain without power in the hardest-hit areas of Kansas and Missouri.
"More than 1,600 personnel are in the field working on stages of power restoration.
