Donald Trump has spent the better part of his trial in New York saying that he could set the record straight on the hush money scheme that was enacted in the final weeks of the 2016 election campaign.
Trump is on trial for creating false business records to cover up the hush money deal surrounding an alleged affair.
"All I can do is tell the truth,” Trump proclaimed the day before his trial began.
“Yeah. I will testify. It's a scam. That's not a trial. It's a scam...It's not even a crime," said Trump on April 12.
