At Donald Trump’s hush-money trial in Manhattan on Monday, Judge Juan Merchan warned the former president that if he violated a gag order Merchan had imposed one more time, he could go to jail.
“It’s important to understand that the last thing I want to do is to put you in jail,” Merchan told the former president. In his written order, however, Merchan noted that Trump could be detained for up to 30 days if he cannot abide by the order, which he has already violated 11 times.
