PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An Oregon beach town has underscored its diversity, equity and inclusion statement after responding to inquiries related to LGBTQ+ individuals’ use of public restrooms.
In a release issued on Monday, City of Newport Parks and Recreation Director Michael Cavanaugh said the department had been “fielding questions” concerning public restrooms and locker rooms being used by people with different gender identities.
