Diana Vickers was expecting to sing Christmas carols in the choir December, but instead she was singing to her son, Evan, while he was on life support fighting for his life at the Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital.
She never left his side.
“I sang at the foot of his bed,” Vickers said. “I was hoping he could hear me if I was singing.”
It wasn’t the holiday season the Vickers’ were hoping for, but it eventually had a happy ending.
Evan Vickers, 30, suffered third-degree burns to 75 percent of his body.
