Traficom: Cost and climate benefits of electric vehicles realised faster than expected

THE COST and climate benefits of electric vehicles appear to be realised quicker than predicted, indicate calculations made by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom).

Traficom on Tuesday published calculations indicating that the cumulative costs of an electric vehicle are lower than those of a propulsion-engine vehicle after roughly 11 years of use, assuming an annual mileage of 14,000 kilometres – the average for cars in Finland.
