South Africa gives Putin immunity to attend Brics Summit

The ICC issued a warrant against Putin in March, marking the first such warrant for a leader among the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. Since South Africa is a member of the ICC, there was a requirement to detain him if he visited the country. However, South Africa decided to grant diplomatic immunity.
