Japan has taken a step towards marriage equality after a court ruled that the government’s ban on same-sex couples getting married is unconstitutional.
The Nagoya District Court in central Japan, however, has rejected a claim from a gay couple that they get compensation for the unequal treatment they have been subjected to.
