CT man killed in head-on crash in Brooklyn

An 81-year-old man was killed in a head-on car crash in Brooklyn on Monday evening.

The accident was reported at about 8:08 p.m. at the intersection of Route 6 and Day Street, according to Connecticut State Police.

Joseph Kowal of Dayville was driving a 2001 Chrysler Sebring east on Route 6 when he collided with a 2021 Hyundai Palisade being driven in the opposite direction, state police said.

Kowal was pronounced dead at the scene.
