LA archbishop asks for prayers for hospitalized Pope Francis

LOS ANGELES — Archbishop José H. Gomez asked the faithful to join him in prayer for Pope Francis as he is treated for a respiratory infection.

“Let’s pray for our Holy Father Pope Francis as he undergoes his medical treatments at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital,” Gomez said in a statement delivered through Twitter. “We entrust him to the tender care of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and we ask that she keep him close in her love.”
