April 21 – Liverpool’s Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has been named England’s Player of the Year by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) – the first player from his country to receive the annual award.
Salah has scored a remarkable 41 goals in all competitions since joining from AS Roma last year including a record-equalling 31 in 33 league games, helping Liverpool reach the Champions League semi-finals and secure a likely top-four finish in the Premier League.
