Centre approves 153 lakh person-Days under MGNREGS for West Bengal; New rural employment framework to roll out from July 11

The Centre has approved a substantial labour budget of 153 lakh person-days for West Bengal under the MGNREGS for June 2026. This initiative aims to boost rural employment and livelihood security. A new framework, Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), will also be implemented from July 1, 2026. This will strengthen rural livelihoods and promote asset creation.
