Govt mandates independent monitoring to check ragging in colleges, univs

Odisha's higher education department has mandated a three-tier grievance redressal system and round-the-clock vigilance against ragging for all universities and colleges. Institutions must strengthen anti-ragging mechanisms, ensure representation from SC/ST communities, and conduct frequent inspections. This directive follows concerns over student safety and mental well-being, with 79 ragging complaints registered in Odisha since April last year.
