Homicide at Oakland tiny home community solved two years later, police say

OAKLAND — Two years after a man was shot and killed in the West Oakland tiny home community where he lived, a suspect has been arrested and charged.

Anthony Alonzo, 36, was charged last week with murdering 43-year-old Deandre Irvin in the 2022 shooting. Though police arrested Alonzo within weeks of the homicide, it wasn’t until this month that they were able to convince prosecutors to file charges, court records show.
